The child is 7 years old and is studying in the 2nd standard. The parents reported for counseling with chief complaints of the problems encountered in reading and writing. The subject had poor academics and also poor concentration span. The assessment revealed that the child suffered from learning disability. Besides, he had problems with handwriting. He wasn’t interested in writing and had poor reading skills. He used to get distracted easily and suffered from anxiety problem, too. The child had lost interest in studies.

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) and therapy sessions were started. He was given therapy sessions for 3 months to relieve the problems of anxiety and learning disability. As a result, positive changes like better reading and handwriting were observed. Through other activities, his anxiety was kept under control. His teachers have also observed the changes in him and there is a positive feedback received from the school.
